Support (currently Telephone Only)
Message from Dr Margaret M. Clark, Cherry Lodge Chairman
To safeguard our members during the worsening coronavirus outbreak, it has been decided to operate a Telephone Only Service until further notice.
The health care professionals and trained volunteers who work at Cherry Lodge provide a range of support to meet different needs. These include the following:
The regular Drop-In Sessions at Cherry Lodge provide an opportunity for people with cancer to meet each other, overcome isolation, offer mutual support and receive a complementary therapy.
A range of one-to-one complementary therapies, such as acupuncture, reflexology, aromatherapy and healing, is provided by professionally qualified and accredited therapists and is coordinated by a qualified nurse.
A selection of therapeutic group activities, such as our singing group, chi kung and yoga, is provided on a weekly basis.
One-to-one psychological and emotional support is available from our qualified and accredited professionals.
Members’ Events and Outings
From time to time Cherry Lodge organises special events or outings for Members.
Hairdressing and Headwear
This is a service for people whose hair has been affected by cancer treatment. We also sell Buffs and have a small selection of wigs available.
Home Visits by Befrienders
Our Befriending Service reaches out into the community to help improve the lives of people with cancer. Trained befrienders are able to provide practical as well as emotional support within people’s own homes.
Cherry Lodge provides a welcoming meeting place for Support Groups for people affected by specific cancers.
Our Outreach Service provides information and support to community groups across the borough of Barnet.
