Cherry Lodge Cancer Care offers a wide range of Support services at the CL centre, in the community or online.
One-to-one psychological and emotional support is available from our qualified and accredited professionals.
A range of one-to-one complementary therapies is provided by professionally qualified and accredited therapists and is coordinated by a qualified nurse.
A reduced selection of therapeutic group activities is currently offered on a weekly basis.
Drop-In Sessions replaced by Coffee Mornings
Before the pandemic, regular Drop-Ins at the CL centre gave Members an opportunity to enjoy refreshments, meet others in a similar situation, provide mutual support, and recieve short therapy sessions. Sadly, these Drop-ins must remain suspended because the risk of infection at the Centre is considered too high. In their place, Member-led Coffee Mornings are held most Tuesday mornings at the Open Door Centre, St Albans Road, Barnet.
Members’ Events and Outings
From time to time Cherry Lodge organises special events or outings for Members.
Home Visits by Befrienders
Our Befriending Service reaches out into the community to help improve the lives of people with cancer. Trained befrienders are able to provide practical as well as emotional support within people’s own homes.
Cherry Lodge has Support Groups for people affected by specific cancers (ovarian, lymphoma and men’s cancers), and also a Carers’ Support Group.
Our Outreach Service provides information and support to community groups across the borough of Barnet.
Online Services and Activities
A range of Online Services and Activities was introduced during the Coronavirus pandemic and will continue to be offered for the foreseeable future.
