Coronavirus Update

While the Cherry Lodge centre at Howard House remains closed due to the coronavirus, our three Specific Cancer Support Groups are meeting online via Zoom. If you have not previously attended, please email Fiona and she will send you the invite and Zoom link nearer the time.

Specific Cancer Support Groups

In normal times, the Cherry Lodge Centre provides a welcoming meeting place for Support Groups for people affected by site-specific cancers. You do not need to be a member of Cherry Lodge to attend these groups. They meet every 6 weeks and are facilitated by one of the Cherry Lodge Cancer Information Nurses. Sometimes guest speakers are invited to attend or an informative DVD is shown.

These groups are currently meeting via Zoom. Please contact Fiona on 020 8441 7000 or email if you have not attended previously. Fiona will send out notifications and Zoom links a day or two ahead of the listed dates.

Younger Women’s Group

This was a pilot group for younger women with any type of cancer. Sadly, attendance proved very difficult for people with so many different commitments and after a two-year trial the group was discontinued in June 2017. Cherry Lodge will, of course, continue to welcome and make our services available to younger women. Other services that might be of interest are Shine Cancer Support (a group for young adults with cancer) and the younger women’s forum at Breast Cancer Care.

Cancer Carers’ Support Group (meeting via Zoom)
