TCS London Marathon 2026 – a big thank you to our runners and their supporters!

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care sends a very big thank you to all our runners in the tcs 2026 London Marathon on Sunday 26th April. We applaud their tremendous commitment to our cause, involving many months of training ahead of the huge physical demands of race day. Our runners have also been very busy fundraising for us – and to date (29th April) they have raise a massive combined total of £14,189! We  really need this money as Cherry Lodge receives no statutory funding and is completely dependent on the generosity of donors to keep our many information and support services completely free of charge.

Representing CL this year were: Charlie Gilbert; Adam Harrison; Stephanie Newman; Kim Sanett; and Jamie Shone. Clicking on their names in blue will take you to their online fundraising pages, where you can read their stories and still make a donation if you wish.Thank you very much indeed to everyone who has donated already.

Fastest of our runners on the day was ballot place winner, Jamie, with a time of 3:28:13, followed by Kim on 3:45:21. Two others came in under five hours: Adam on 4:45:07 and Stephanie on 4:48:49. Despite recording a good time at the half-way point, Charlie became unwell and was unable to finish – we wish him well.

A day or so after the race, Cherry Lodge always welcomes our Marathon runners to the Cherry Lodge centre to be thanked personally and receive a soothing therapy. This year, other commitments meant that only two runners – Stephanie and Kim – were able to attend, meet others, show off their well-earned medals and benefit from a reflexology session with volunteer Linda Shelbourn.

Once again, thank you to all our runners and their generous supporters.
