Coronavirus Update

March 2022: Before the pandemic, Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s Outreach Nurse, Kirsty Mabb, held regular Outreach Surgeries at venues across the borough of Barnet. This Service was set up to address the health needs and cancer concerns of people who could not easily get to the CL centre. Surgeries at community centres help serve the needs of Barnet’s large multicultural population. Many of these centres were closed during the pandemic and CL’s Outreach Surgeries had to be suspended. As the pandemic recedes, CL’s Outreach Services are gradually restarting. Please email Kirsty or phone her on 020 8441 7000 for up to date information.

Kirsty Mabb, Macmillan Outreach Nurse

Kirsty joined Cherry Lodge in 2006, having previously worked in an inner city London borough as a community nurse specialising in palliative care. Since 2015 her post has been funded by money raised by Summer Soulstice, resulting in her more informal title of ‘Soulstice Nurse’.

Outreach Surgeries

In normal times, Kirsty’s ‘health and wellness outreach surgeries’ are held at a variety of community venues. Anyone can be seen, without an appointment, if they have any worrying symptoms or concerns about their general health, or if they have questions about their cancer or its treatment.

Information Stall

The Cherry Lodge Information Stall has a valuable role enabling us to take information about our services, cancer and general well-being to people within our wider community. Over the last few months it has become a regular visitor to Barnet’s The Spires shopping centre.
