A select group of about 30 people gathered at Howard House on Monday 16th October 2017 for a thank you reception. This was primarily an opportunity for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to thank the wonderful Soulstice crew for their ongoing support (and for this year’s record Soulstice fundraising total of £47,200, including £8,700 raised by Marathon runner Giles).
Apart from the Soulstice crew, the Chairman had invited those volunteers who helped with the carpark and Cherry Lodge stall on the day of the Summer Soulstice festival, as well as a few other supporters, notably Mr and Mrs Kishore Patel from the Lions Club of Golders Green, which has made us their charity of the year and has already sponsored our new, very smart appointment cards. Alex Woods completed the guest list as a recognition of his utterly amazing feat(!), walking the length of the Thames in eight days and raising £10,000.
Attendees were treated to a range of brilliant culinary delights, prepared as always by the very talented Joanna DeFries. Three of our Cherry Lodge therapists (Andi, Annys and Loretta) gave treatments to those wanting to try them. This not only provided a pleasant experience but demonstrated to our sponsors some of the services available at the Centre. Thanks to the staff for being there and helping in so many ways to make the evening such a success and to the Trustees for joining us.
