Once again the brains of Barnet congregated at the beautifully refurbished and re-decorated Mary Immaculate and St Peter’s church hall in Somerset Road, New Barnet. This really is a splendid venue with very good facilities, such as a first-rate PA system and most helpful staff.
Some 90 people braved the elements on Saturday 31st January 2015 and came out to pit their wits, have a drink with friends and family, eat fish and chips followed by Pam’s delicious cakes and buy raffle tickets. No Cherry Lodge event would be the same without the ubiquitous raffle!
It was a particularly enjoyable, fun-filled evening. The quiz master and his family (see photograph, right) produced some very intriguing and challenging questions, scoring was done meticulously and nobody, one hopes, was too upset at Sue’s winning table receiving their small boxes of chocolates. Well done. Rose’s team came bottom, but were not left out and gratefully received a toilet roll each. The latter, of course, always comes in handy!
Many thanks to all who came to help raise funds for Cherry Lodge and to all the helpers who made it all go smoothly. The event raised a total of £991.
