Donation from Sainsbury’s, Potters Bar

On Monday 18th May 2015 Cherry Lodge received a very welcome donation from Sainsbury’s, Potters Bar. We have since agreed that this money will be spent on refreshments for the Volunteers party, to be held on 2nd June to mark National Volunteers Week. Cherry Lodge is extremely grateful for the support of its many volunteers, without whose selfless help it would be impossible to deliver our many free services to people affected by cancer.

Thank you again to Sainsbury’s, Potters Bar for choosing Cherry Lodge to receive this money, and thank you also to Barnet and Potters Bar Times for publicising this donation and giving us permission to reproduce their photograph and James Caven’s article, below:

Charity receives £100 boost from Supermarket

Sainsbury’s Potters Bar has donated £100 to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care as part of its community budget scheme.

Colleagues Kyri Kyriacou and Carole Nicholls handed the money to Annys Douglas at the charity’s shop in Church Passage, Barnet last week.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care fundraiser Barbara Moody said “It is through the kindness of our supporters, such as Sainsbury’s, that our work is able to continue, never turning anyone away from our door and providing our services free of charge.”

Sainsbury’s store manager Paul Stephens said: “When we heard about Cherry Lodge and the amazing support they provide, we just wanted to help out as much as we could.”
