Many thanks are again due to editor Freddy Kater for putting together this special celebratory issue in Cherry Lodge’s 20th anniversary year. It begins with ‘Hand in Hand: Soulstice and Cherry Lodge’, in which Dave James, Soulstice Chairman, celebrates the very special link between Barnet’s annual Soul festival and Cherry Lodge Cancer Care. This is followed by ‘The Icing on the Cake: the Order of Mercy’, by Pat Findon, who has been awarded this prestigious award for her ‘distinguished voluntary work as a Trustee of Cherry Lodge for many years’, a role that Pat describes as having been a ‘privilege’. Finally, Christine Halloran and Fiona Kiddle write about their evening at the House of Commons where they received an Atul Pathak Community Award on behalf of Cherry Lodge.
