Cherry Lodge Cancer Care sends warm thanks to professional florist Iris for once again giving her time (and flowers) to put on another very interesting demonstration and workshop for us. Her ‘Enjoy Spring Flowers’ event, held at the Memorial Hall, Hadley Highstone on 21st May 2026, was very much enjoyed.
Iris’s very skilled demonstration included a wide range of arrangements:
• a striking Springtime arrangement combining tulips, irises, gypsophila, pussy willow, and foliage in a fan-shaped design, displayed in a vase using a flower pin holder
• a simple ready-made table arrangement demonstrating how easy and what fun, floral decorating can be for everyone
• an elegant orchid arrangement designed in a floral tray, using oasis, together with a delicate miniature table display
• the creation of a hand-tied bouquet featuring roses and peonies, accompanied by a mini floral holder arrangement
• a decorative trug arrangement filled with vibrant gerberas and complemented by a small floral gift idea providing inspiration for seasonal displays.
It was then time for the workshop, giving attendees the opportunity to create their own arrangement, using carnations, gypsophila, foliage, and oasis in prepared round floral trays. With containers and materials ready in advance, participants were able to enjoy arranging their flowers and adding their own touch. Everyone took home their completed design at the end of the session.
To round off the afternoon, all of the demonstration arrangements were included in the raffle, and tea and cakes were served.
A big thank you to Iris and Tina for arranging this event.
