The Cherry Lodge Cancer Care Annual Grand Raffle draw took place as planned on 27th October 2020.
This year, with coronavirus restrictions still in place, it was decided that cash prizes would be easier to use and, therefore, more attractive than our usual holiday, meal and events vouchers. Ticket sales have been very good, suggesting that this was the right decision. The draw – from a large black bin liner – was made by four trustees attending a socially distanced Trustees Meeting at Howard House.
Our 2020 winners are:
1st prize: £1,000 Olivia Pepe (the daughter of a CL volunteer and a volunteer herself)
2nd prize: £500 Carole Shotts (a CL befriender)
3rd prize: £250 Shirley Meredeen (a resident of Union Street)
4th prize: £100 Jane Chukwme
Congratulations to the lucky winners! Thank you very much indeed to the individuals who donated prizes and to everyone who sold and bought tickets. A special thank you is extended to 3rd prize winner Shirley Meredeen, who immediately donated her prize money back to Cherry Lodge because we ‘do such excellent work’.
