London Marathon 2025 – race-day report

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care sends a huge thank you to the six runners who represented our charity in the tcs 2025 London Marathon. This year’s event, held on Sunday 27th April, was the largest ever – with a record 56,000 starters.

Running and fundraising for us this year were: Claire Dutton, Leoni Gomes de Oliveira Junior, Joe Fryer, Nicholas Shone and Trey Warner Noel. Our sixth runner, Liam Pratt, took up his deferred place from last year’s event (for which he raised over £2,000 before having to pull out due to illness). The money our runners raise through sponsorship will help Cherry Lodge continue to provide our much needed cancer information and support services completely free of charge.

It was a very warm day of mixed fortunes. Different runners have different aims, some being driven by the hope of achieving a personal best, others simply hoping to complete the 26.2miles against great odds. We are delighted to report that all six Cherry Lodge runners successfully completed the course, achieving the following times: Leoni 3h 23m 12s; Nicholas 4h 00m 17s; Liam 4h 26m 12s; Trey 4h 29m 2s; Claire 5h 17.52; Joe 7h 18m 46s. More information, with photographs and stories from the runners, will be added to our website during the next  few days.

Meanwhile, there is still time to sponsor our runners. Visit CL’s 2025 London Marathon team page on Enthuse or go to the runners’ individual pages by clicking on the names in blue in the paragraph above. Alternatively, we ask you to contact a runner to sponsor them directly, or contact Tina by email or call her on 020 8441 7000.
