Cherry Lodge’s Soul Fall Ball – new photos added

There were evening dresses and bow ties a plenty at the Soul Fall Ball, held in aid of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care on Saturday 23rd October 2021. The night was a fantastic success. Some 160 party goers attended the event at the Double Tree Hilton in Borehamwood, enjoying a great night out as well as raising a lot of money to help fund Cherry Lodge’s many services for people affected by cancer.

The room was given a touch of glamour by Tina and her team, who made the very attractive table displays, covered the dining chairs and displayed an impressive selection of auction prizes to great effect. The evening commenced with a complimentary drink and a beautifully presented Autumn-themed Tombola, which was expertly run by Annys, Kim and Sheila, and raised over £1100. People then took their seats to enjoy the hotel’s delicious 3-course dinner.

MC for the evening was Siôn James of Collywobblers Comedy Club, whose engaging manner was already familiar to anyone who had attended his Zoom Comedy Nights held during lockdown in aid of Cherry Lodge. Siôn’s expertise was also evident in his handling of the live auction at the ball, which ran alongside a very well supported silent auction.

Music for the Soul Fall Ball was in the capable hands of members of the Soulstice crew. Summer Soulstice are loyal supporters of Cherry Lodge and have raised more than £400,000 for our charity since their first music festival in 2007. The ball provided an ideal opportunity for Richard Weekes to present a cheque for £3,815 on behalf of the Soulstice crew, donating the proceeds from Summer Soulstice Virtual 2021. A dynamic live performance from singer Melvenia got the dancing off to a lively start. Dancing continued with great enthusiasm until 1am, with music from Soulstice DJs, including a smooth-running final set delivered by Soulstice director Jamie Topham.

Sarah, a trustee of Cherry Lodge, reports that totals and expenses are still being collated but early signs are that the event made over £9,000 for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, a fantastic amount. She also sends thanks to everyone who supported the event, the sponsors, the hotel, and also Tina and her grand team of organisers who efficiently pulled together a brilliant evening of fun and merriment. You know who you are … so a BIG thank you.
