Cherry Lodge Cancer Care: retirement of Chairman

This announcement from the CL Board of Trustees was made to staff on 18th December 2023 and posted on the Cherry Lodge website on 1st January 2024.

Trustees’ Announcement

It is with some sadness that after 27 years of dedication and inspiration our Founder, Dr Margaret Clark, has decided to retire as Chairman and Trustee of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care.

Fortunately, Margaret will continue to work in Howard House in her role as acupuncture therapist and serve on the Fundraising Committee. She will also be available to provide help and support as needed.

On behalf of the whole of Cherry Lodge, the Trustees would like to thank Margaret for her exemplary service and contribution to many, many members over the years.

Our primary focus now is to ensure that we maintain the levels of service and continuity that have been a trademark of Cherry Lodge under Margaret’s stewardship. To facilitate this, current Trustees, Sarah Armitage and Dr Katherine Edwards, have agreed to serve as Joint Chairpersons with effect from 1st January 2024.

Sarah and Katherine have served as Trustees for many years and are well known to staff and members; they have a wealth of experience and knowledge. They will be fully supported by the rest of the Trustees and we are confident we can maintain the day-to-day operation of our services. We also look forward to continuing the longer-term development of Cherry Lodge.
