The Blue Hills Garden Open Day, held on Sunday 31st May 2026, was a great opportunity for supporters of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to enjoy a fabulous garden in Arkley, while also helping Tina and the CL fundraising team raise much needed money to keep our many services completely free of charge. We send heartfelt thanks to Anne Bickel, the owner, for making this wonderful venue available to us.
The weather was kind, not as hot as on previous days, and very pleasant for a stroll around the splendid 3-acre garden. Attractions include handsome mature trees, lovely shrubs, a large pond with fish, a waterfall, weeping willow, rockery, fountain, thatched summer houses and beautiful garden ornaments.
Plenty of comfortable seating was available, with tea and cakes provided and served by Cherry Lodge volunteers. The luxurious tombola also proved to be very popular.
