Summer Soulstice 2021 live event cancelled – virtual event will be from 25th-27th June

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is immensely grateful for the wonderful ongoing support we receive from Summer Soulstice. Since 2007, when the Soulstice crew put on their first family music festival in Barnet, they have given us an amazing £425,000, making them by far our biggest third-party fundraiser. Over the years, this award-winning festival, held each year in memory of Andy Weekes, grew from strength to strength, attracting large crowds to listen to top class performers and DJs as well as raising much needed money for Cherry Lodge.

Even the terrible burglary in 2018, when festival takings in excess of £40,000 were stolen, did not crush the spirit of the organisers or their many supporters. A very successful crowd-funding page ensured that Cherry Lodge could still receive a big cheque at the 2018 Big Payback event in August. Everything was back on track the following year and Summer Soulstice 2019 was a fabulous success, raising a record £45,000 for Cherry Lodge. No one needs to be reminded that the coronavirus pandemic put paid to the planned live festival in 2020 and led to its replacement by Summer Soulstice Virtual 2020 in conjunction with F1 Sound Co and Deliciously Twisted Studios. This virtual festival was another successful event (with fantastic acts still available to watch and listen to on the Soulstice website).

It had been hoped that the festival could return to OE’s Memorial Playing Fields in 2021, but the persistence of the coronavirus pandemic has now ruled this out. Instead, the crew will soon be announcing plans for Summer Soulstice Virtual 2021 – #SSV2021. See the announcement below (from Summer Soulstic HQ on 25th February 2020) and visit the Summer Soulstice website for more information.

SUMMER SOULSTICE 2021: CANCELLATION CONFIRMED

It is with regret that we announce this year’s festival will not be going ahead.

Despite the latest UK government announcement of a long-awaited pathway out of the national lockdown, the proposed date for all restrictions to be lifted (June 21st) has sadly left us with not much wriggle room (only 5 days). As a small, not-for-profit event, the unknown timescales and additional measures that may or may not be in place, would have a detrimental effect on the long term future of Summer Soulstice.

Therefore, we have decided we would be better suited to make a bigger and better return in 2022 and will be offering all valid 2020 ticket holders to roll over their e-tickets to next year’s festival. We are pleased to announce that we will be putting 2022 tickets on sale on Saturday 26th June 2021.

We will also be marking the occasion over that same weekend with another fabulous virtual event. Although it may be our first weekend out, we still want everyone to enjoy the Soulstice vibe wherever you are and to help bring some much needed funds for our good friends at Cherry Lodge Cancer Care. We look forward to sharing more details about our Summer Soulstice Virtual 2021 – #SSV2021 – very shortly.

We too share your disappointment and even frustration, we continue to value your continued love and support for Summer Soulstice.

We will dance together again on the field of dreams on 25th June 2022. SAVE THE DATE!

Big love from Soulstice HQ x
