The Summer 2019 issue of Cherry Lodge News has now been sent to everyone on the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care mailing list. It is also possible, via this website, to download a pdf of the newsletter to read onscreen or to print out. Note that if you no longer wish to receive a copy of the newsletter by post, you can unsubscribe by contacting Tina by phone on 020 8441 7000 or by email.
Included in this issue is a lead article on ‘Our 2019 London Marathon Success Stories!’ Each of our five runners had a particular reason to raise money for us – all of them ran the Marathon in memory of a former Cherry Lodge member. Brothers Kieran and Michael Storey and their cousin Molly Burgess ran for their grandfather; Jennifer Oxley ran for her best friend Nicola Kelly; and Tony Chapman ran for his mother. Between them, our runners raised a little over £10,000.
We also have an article about ‘Chair Yoga’, written by Jacqueline R, who leads sessions at Howard House on the first and third Tuesdays of every month, at 12.45pm after Drop In. There is then a quietly touching Member’s Poem entitled ‘Drop In’, written by Dennis E. Regular features include: ‘Letter to the Editor’ (this one asking how Cherry Lodge decides what to include in the newsletter and on our website); our ‘Bits and Pieces’ noticeboard; and a summary of CL ‘Services and Approach’.
The Cherry Lodge newsletter is edited by Grant Whitaker, who writes: ‘If you would like to comment or provide us with some content please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a note at Howard House.
