Sir Sydney Chapman, R.I.P.

The Trustees and staff of Cherry Lodge were saddened to hear of the death, on 9th October  2014, of Sir Sydney Chapman, a good friend and patron of this charity. By ceremoniously cutting a blue ribbon, on 13th May 1998, he officially opened Cherry Lodge while it was still a Tardis-like portakabin on the site of what was then Barnet General Hospital. Sir Sydney will be sorely missed as he not only took a great interest in Cherry Lodge but was formerly a very conscientious and much loved Chipping Barnet MP. We wish to extend our condolences to his family and friends. Thank you to Sydney for all he did to help the development of the charity.
