Everyone on the Cherry Lodge mailing list should by now have received their Autumn 2017 copy of ‘Cherry Lodge News’ in the post. It is also possible, via this website, to download a pdf of the newsletter to read onscreen or to print out.
This is the first Cherry Lodge newsletter under the editorship of Grant Whitaker, who has taken over this role from our long-time previous editor, Freddy Kater. Thank you very much indeed to Freddy for her past work, and to Grant for agreeing to take on this time-consuming job and for getting off to such a good start.
Our Autumn 2017 newsletter begins with ‘Lots of Pain! Lots of Gain’, an account by Alex Woods of his challenging Thames Path walk, which raised more than £10,000 for Cherry Lodge. This is followed by ‘Befriending from the Front Line’, a real-life account of this Cherry Lodge service in action, sharing the thoughts of Barry D (Baz), a Cherry Lodge befriendee since early 2017, and his befriender, John K. There is also ‘A Letter to the Editor’ and detailed response on the topic of how Cherry Lodge nurses and therapists are managing to cope with the increasing number of people needing our services.
To access our three most recent newsletters, our latest Annual Report and a current Cherry Lodge leaflet, go to the About Us page of the website and then click on the appropriate item in the right-hand column under Downloads.
