The 8th annual Alan Cox Associates‘ Charity Golf Day, held at Hadley Wood Golf Club on Thursday 8th September 2016, was another great day for golfers and for local charities including Cherry Lodge Cancer Care.
A misty start for setting up at 7am heralded a glorious day with plenty of sunshine. Twenty teams of four enjoyed this opportunity to play Hadley Wood’s extremely interesting course, designed in 1922 by Dr Alister MacKenzie of Augusta National fame. The individual winner was David Jackson, who kindly returned his prize to be raffled, which raised a further £300. The team event was won by the hosts, Hadley Wood Golf Club.
Alan Cox Associates send special thanks to Barclays, Hemingway Tailors and Aston Martin for their sponsorship.
The day raised a very impressive £17,500 (£8,000 each for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, and the remainder for Barnet’s OAP’s Christmas lunch).
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is most grateful to Alan Cox Associates for their ongoing very generous support.
Next year’s ACA Charity Golf Day at Hadley Wood is already booked for 7th September 2017!
