Outreach Service

Cherry Lodge’s Outreach Service is designed to address the health needs and cancer concerns of people who might find it difficult to get to the CL centre. ‘Health and wellness outreach surgeries’ are held at a variety of community venues, especially in the west of the borough to serve the needs of Barnet’s large multicultural population. Anyone can be seen at these surgeries, without an appointment, if they have any worrying symptoms or concerns about their general health, or if they have questions about their cancer or its treatment.

Farewell and huge thanks to Kirsty Mabb, Macmillan Outreach Nurse

The time has come to express deep thanks to our much-loved Outreach Nurse, Kirsty Mabb. After 19 years as Cherry Lodge’s Outreach Nurse, Kirsty retired on 31st October 2025. She will no longer be a member of staff responsible for the delivery of Cherry Lodge’s services to the wider community around the borough of Barnet – a role of she has performed with great professionalism and extraordinary kindness. Kirsty will continue to facilitate our outreach Carers’ Support Group and the Cornflower cancer Support Group. We wish her well.

Social Prescribing

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care works closely with social prescribers across Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Barnet and Lower Hertsmere. These vital partnerships help introduce Cherry Lodge to people directly affected by cancer, enabling us to reach and support them within their own communities.

We attend as many social prescribing events as possible, with one of our cancer specialist nurses on hand to offer information and support. On 8th October 2025 we joined other local health and wellbeing organisations at a community event organised by local GP practices (PCN 2) at Oakleigh Community Church.

We welcome the opportunity to present our free therapy services, Befriending Scheme, volunteer opportunities, and to share our leaflets and branded materials. Information Stall

The Cherry Lodge Information Stall has a valuable role enabling us to take information about our services, cancer and general well-being to people within our wider community. It can be found at fundraising and other events in the locality, spreading the word about Cherry Lodge’s services and offering a useful selection of cancer information leaflets.
