Cherry Lodge Cancer Care recently joined other local health and wellbeing organisations at a community event organised by local GP practices (PCN 2). This well organised and popular event for Barnet’s older residents was held on 8th October 2025 at Oakleigh Community Church. It was opened by Cllr Tony Vourou, former Mayor of Barnet (pictured below with CL nurse, Karen).
Cherry Lodge was delighted to take part in this special event along with other very useful local health and wellbeing organisations. These included Age UK Barnet, Barnet Talking Therapies, Groundwork London, Better Gyms GLL, Ageing Well Team & Stroke Clinic, National Energy Action, Barnet Public Health & Adult Social Care, Community Pharmacy, and local GP Practice representation.
The programme included talks on Keeping Well, a series of gentle exercises, and a mindfulness session. Attendees then had time to visit the wide range of information stalls (including our own), have blood pressure checks, receive NHS App and Digital support, and enjoy refreshments. All in all it was a very positive day.
