Reiki Healing (distant treatment currently available)
All therapies, including Reiki, normally held at the Cherry Lodge centre, Howard House, are currently suspended. In the meantime, members might like to join the online treatment sessions that the Reiki Association is currently offering to groups via Zoom on Thursdays 10 am to 11:15 am. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Life Energy’. It is the energy that flows through all living things and it can be activated by healing. Reiki recognises the oneness of all. It is not a religion and does not require any religious belief.
The Usui Reiki Art of Natural Healing was rediscovered about 100 years ago in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui.
How does Reiki Healing work?
The Reiki practitioner channels the life energy through his or her hands to the recipient’s body, which in turn activates the body’s own natural healing process. During healing, the recipient lies fully clothed on a massage table, while the practitioner places his or hand hands in certain positions on the recipient’s body. The energy is then drawn to where it is most needed. Reiki will cleanse the recipient’s body and bring balance to it by unblocking subtle energy pathways.
