Dame Helen Mirren - Patron
It is thrilling to announce that, at long last, Cherry Lodge is recognised in the loftiest of circles. No less a person than Dame Helen Mirren (how many actresses have portrayed two Queen Elizabeths?) has agreed to become a Patron of Cherry Lodge and that news has been greeted with intense joy by the humble inhabitants of Barnet in general and those attending Cherry Lodge in particular. Helen Mirren is given a warm welcome on board the Union Street Express.

"Only those who have been there understand the full extent of the help and succour given by Cherry Lodge Cancer Care. I will of course do what I can to help and would be honoured to be a patron."
Dame Helen is familiar with the work carried out by Cherry Lodge (through a personal contact) and it is clearly very good for a small, Barnet-based charity, to have such an illustrious Dame on board. We thank her for having agreed to join us and we very much hope that, despite a very busy filming schedule, she will be able to visit the centre from time to time and also attend some of our major Fundraising events.
