A Poem from Cherry Lodge
Being diagnosed with cancer is a devastating shock, Scans, tests, biopsies and then sat before your doc. No critical illness cover and I am self employed Can I, can’t I afford it with insurance I have toyed. The mortgage still needs paying, the children need new shoes However will I manage? What option should I choose. I’m handed a blue leaflet - Cherry Lodge who are they? ‘Go along they can help you’ I hear the nurses say.
I meet with one of the nurses who really is a treasure I thank her for help and advice she replies, ‘It is my pleasure’. I go along to drop-in for coffee and a chat I didn’t think I’d like it, I’m not really into that. I’m offered a taster therapy a massage, acupuncture or perhaps some reflexology.
It’s made a world of difference but not only to me, My wife, the kids, the family to think all this is free I’ve been to see a lady who can help with benefits advice She’s a trained volunteer and again she’s really nice.
So thank you for your generous interest and support So when you think of charity please give Cherry Lodge a thought.
